Not Done
Just wanted to give a shout out to my scrappin' friends! I haven't posted for awhile...Lots of stuff happens when you move including packing of the supplies. So just know that I'm not done with the challenges and have ideas in my head waiting to come out! (probably in a month or so after I can have some breathing time where I'm not asleep -haha)

Marshmallow world!
I thought it was a fun little title. :)
I used 'snowflake' embossing powder to emboss the chipboard snowflakes an snowmen. (it's basically white embossing powder with silver glitter mixed in...) I thought it gave it a nice little punch.

One Hour
This page took one hour to do because of the following reasons.
#1- I decided to weave my accent papers- We visited a basket weaving company. I thought it was fitting.
#2- I wasted a lot of time watching my episode of Grey's Anatomy between actually working.
#3- I also wasted time getting lost in the pictures. I can't believe how little the kiddos were! To me, July 2008 was 'just a few years ago'....... but to Maggie, July 2008 was just after she turned two. Crazy.

Inky

I only used white paper for this page and had fun experimenting with ink. I mounted the pictures on paper that I antiqued. Wanted to try a wide edge for that. The blue ink pad is made of a different material and it kinda gave it a tiedyed look. For the base paper I used blow markers. Have you ever seen those? You put the marker into a tube and blow to make splatters on the page. I was super excited that they still worked since I actually bought them over 6 years ago! (I'm irritated with myself that the picture on the left is so crooked but that's how it is. I pretend not to notice.) It was a fun page to do!
Month 10
Another month, another set of challenges. Funny how that happens.
I know last month I was a super slacker and posted like the last week or so of the month- so I held off for like 11 days this month to give you a chance to catch up. :D
Challenge #42- Combine black and white and color.
First start off with some black- throw in some white... and then some color. Easy Peasy.
Challenge #43- Time's up! Finish a page in 60 minutes.
Now's the time to show off your mad skills. Let's see what you've got up your sleeves.
Challenge #44- Use old photos of people at the same age.
Any people. Same age. Use baby photos of your kids- graduation pictures of siblings- heck even old school photos of you and your significant other at the same age. Have fun- Take that pretty stroll down memory lane :D
Challenge #45- Let a song lyric inspire a layout.
Songs inspire us all. The melodies move us, but most of all it's the lyrics that really burrow deep within. We all have our songs that mean the most. Let those be the ones that inspire your layout.
Challenge #46- Represent multiple perspectives
It's time to bust out those 'He said- She said' layouts. Weddings, births, travels, new jobs..... You shared the same experiences together- Now, you the artist gets to make the layout all pretty, but the other person in the experience gets a say now in the journaling. :D
Let's cross our fingers that I can start getting these posts up on time next month. :D

Stampin Reflection
I remember in Elemntary School one of the art projects we had done was using one side of the paper with wet paint and then folding it over and "stampin" the image on the other side. So that is what I did along with reflecting the picture too..

Tilting towards the American Way
I am absolutely in LOVE with this layout. This is Allie when she was about 18 months or so. Given the recent events I felt the need to do something ALL AMERICAN..(with a tilt).

Singular
I tried to stay with all pink..I hope this counts!
Pink is Arizona's absolute favorite color..I feel bad for Allie and Geneva when it comes to the hand me down clothes because they are pink and usually have monkey's on them!

My Little Monkey

I had all these pictures that I love of Austin with Ryan and wanted something to tie them together. Ta-da! "I Wanna Be Like You" from Disney's Jungle Book movie was perfect! So I began my search for monkeys. Paper, stickers, anything monkey that was in bright jungle colors and came up with nothing (except a few stickers that were way overpriced especially when you factor in that there was only 1 monkey in the set). Then I found a little scrapbooking store that I didn't even know about. The very helpful owner said that she was out of her monkey stickers and helped me look for something else before mentioning, "Maybe the Cricut would work." I told her that I didn't have a cartridge for that and she said she thought she did. I was not encouraged, thinking there's no way I'm going to buy a whole cartridge for one page. Then, finally I caught on to what she was saying. She has a Cricut at the store and will cut things for a small fee. Score! My new distressing attempts add some definition to the cutouts. Now I'm wondering what else I may need to have cut... :D
